he city of Thessaly is best known for its assassins. The best in the Guild have been raised and trained here. The other major feature of this place is the massive pyramidal temples that radiate a dark energy from beyond this world. The city itself seems to be built around these massive structures.
The local chapter of Assassins have suddenly cut off communication with the Guild. Then, all within a few hours, the political and spiritual leaders were murdered. The assassins responsible now rule the city. It is clear that they worship the Serpent Riders, but they do not seem to follow their orders. These rogue Assassins openly state that they do not believe the Order of the Triad has the best interests of the Riders in mind. They offer living sacrifices specifically to Eidolon and not to the other two brother demons. Those who do not offer their loyalty to the Assassins and Eidolon are taken as the sacrifices. The once sprawling jungle city has lost more than half its population to the Assassins. So many have been killed in this once great city, that the many stairs leading up to each temple are stained with blood. The few survivors live in constant fear, and go about their daily lives always looking over their shoulder, for the Assassins are masters of stealth.
The great walls originally constructed to keep the fierce creatures of the jungle out now serve as protection against both the Order of the Triad and the Light Followers. If the new rulers are not stopped, eventually every one of Thessaly's citizens will be slain. The Assassins Guild fears that should these crazed Eidolon worshippers arrive on the mainland, their insanity could spread throughout the Guild.
