Hiegan

Order of the Triad City

Hiegan, The Twisted City. Once a thriving and bustling metropolis, it is now engulfed by the darkened souls that inhabit these unholy woods. The formerly majestic entranceway now rusted and hanging off the hinges as vines wrap themselves menacingly around it. The city’s many ragged houses line the torn streets within this dark metropolis, forever covered in night. Twisted trees entangle the buildings of this corrupted place and the spirits of the dead are often seen wandering the streets and crying out in pain and anguish.

Hiegan was originally settled as a druid encampment. This particular tribe of druids was especially adept at creating mystical spell scrolls, and it is from the sale of these documents that Hiegan's budding economy began to thrive. Within a mere decade the encampment had grown exponentially into a prosperous city and stayed that way for many years.

Then one day, the 'darkness' came. The trees began to twist and contort, entirely closing off the canopy of the city and the entire woods themselves, and engulfing the area in perpetual night. Demons emerged from the newly formed darkness and began to slay the residents of Hiegan. Laying waste to the various shops and estates within, the demons took control as their corruption began to create something new.

Hiegan has become a central hub of vile corruption due to the Order of the Triad. It is here that the Order Cult opens gateways to the Realm of the Dead and brings forth the beast-minions of the Serpent Riders. Hidden under the darkness of the dense foliage, the summoned demons stalk the woods, waiting to receive their orders from the Cultists and attack any innocent travelers along the way.

In addition to summoning Chaos Minions, the Order Cultists toil to convert what curious wanderers they happen upon, and waste no time “taking care” of the ones that choose to fight against them. The Order holds the region of Shadow Wood under their control with only the small town of Vale rebelling against them.

In the center of The Twisted City stands the meeting hall, looming over the various decrepit buildings. Previously used for town gatherings and extravagant balls, it is now the primary location where the Order Cult conducts its various affairs for this region.
